TIU Men's Soccer 2022
Midnight Classic T-Shirt 

Summary

In February of 2022, Trinity International University hosted the 43rd Annual Midnight Classic, a soccer recruiting event where high school recruits, current players, and alumni are divided into multiple teams and compete in a futsal tournament that begins at 7pm and does not end until the hours of the early morning. Leading up to the event Coach Josiah Larson of the TIU Men’s Soccer program reached out to me and asked if I would like to design the t-shirts for the event and then, once approved, asked me to create a second colorway for the 1st Annual Alumni Classic, which would take place about a week before the Midnight Classic.

The design that I came up with was a simple concept based on the idea of a top-down view of a futsal court, with the year “2022” creating the lines of the court in neon pink on a cobalt blue background. The words “Midnight Classic” are then centered in white within the gaps between the top and the bottom of the numbers in a flat extended font.

In addition to creating the t-shirts for the event, Coach Larson also asked me to provide a Spotify playlist of clean songs that could be played throughout the six-hour event. Below you can see and listen to the TIU Men’s Soccer playlist that I created as a player, and added to for the event.
