T-Shirt & Sticker

Summary

In the summer of 2022, I was approached by the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Trinity International University about designing a t-shirt and a pennant sticker for their Fall 2022 Preview Day recruiting event.

T-Shirt

The idea for the t-shirt was to create a skyline featuring some of the most iconic buildings on the TIU campus, and fortunately, I had worked on a similar kind of project as a student several years before. Using photos of the McLennan Academic Building, Waybright Center, Arnold T. Olson Chapel, the University Administration Mansion, and Meyer Sports Complex, I created simplified line art drawings of each building.

Pennant Sticker

For the Trinity pennant, though I did not create the original design, it has always been one of my favorite pieces of school merch, so I thoroughly enjoyed getting the opportunity to recreate its design in sticker form. To get the best possible vectorized version of the pennant’s unique lettering, I used the Adobe Capture app on my phone to capture the shape of the letters, save them to the Creative Cloud, and then open them in Illustrator to refine their edges. I then used Adobe Illustrator to create the rest of the pennant, warping the text to flow with its shape as I went along.
